Nicolas Jaar est producteur, musicien, DJ et moitié de Darkside, le groupe qu’il forme avec Dave Harrington. Jeune, prolifique, talentueux et intrigant, il sort un premier album, Space is the only noise en 2012. Hors-norme, décousu et déconstruit, le disque commence avec un dialogue entre Serge Daney et Jean-Luc Godard sur le cinéma, le ton est donné.

Sollicité, et de plus en plus sollicité, Jaar réalise un mix mémorable pour la BBC en 2012 qui a un franc succès. En guise d’introduction, le compositeur Angelo Badalamenti y raconte comment il a adapté le thème de Twin Peaks selon les recommandations de David Lynch, ça commence très bien…
